Gold Leaf and Icons

2 Day Gold Leaf Workshop

Kinga decides on an image and creates a cartoon for her panel.

Britt sands her panel to prepare it for water guilding gold leaf.

Nicole applies gold leaf.

Emory adds gold through the size (glue) method.

And writes a beautiful icon.

Diane adds highlights to the face.

Each student is in various stages of completing their icon and will finish in their own studio.

The paper plates on which her images are painted symbolize a dangerously cavalier attitude toward irreplaceable species.”
